When you have nothing else…

Many times we find ourselves in desperation. If you are a follower of Christ you will still come upon some hard times and trying situations. Things in your life can be given and can be taken away. All that you have hoped for and dreamed of can seem to crumble right before you. You may find yourself in a hopeless situation because of some circumstance that is happening around you. When you seem to have nothing good left your life, when you feel that nothing will ever be okay, when things are taken that you don’t believe can be restored, you have to take a very important step in changing that perspective.

That all important step is to hold tight to the Word of God.

In our most desperate and trying times, that is when we need to lean on God more and more. Our enemy wants to take your desperation and frustration and use it as a foothold on your life. He wants to take your feelings and emotions that come with those circumstances and control them. He wants to take your thoughts captive and hold you down with negative self talk and hopelessness. Ladies, we cannot let our enemy have this control over us. Get in the Word of God and proclaim what is says because it IS the Truth.

The Word says in John 16:33 that we will have trouble but to take heart! Jesus has overcome the world.

The Word says in Jeremiah 29:11 that the Lord has plans for your welfare and not for evil, plans to give you a future and a hope.

The Word says in Romans 8:28 that for those who love God all things work together for good for those who are called according to His purpose.

The Word says in Isaiah 41:10 to not be afraid because He is with you, do not be dismayed for He is your God, He will strengthen you, He will help you, He will uphold you with His right hand.

Do you have something in your life you want to overcome? Do you want your hope back? Do you want assurance that your life can be good? Do you want to not be afraid anymore? Do you need strength to endure that situation? Do you need help? Do you need to be upheld because you have given it your all and can’t stand on your own in this situation?

If you can answer yes to any of these questions, I have the solution. Hold tight to the Word of God. Believe it. Live it. Proclaim it. Praise Him for it.

May you be blessed and encouraged,

Cindy Witt
