Do you ever feel like all you do is argue over silly things with your Kids? Well this has been my life the last few days leaving me feeling completely worthless as a mother. So many things go thru my head. Why will he not listen, follow simple instructions, clean up after himself, and whoever said that sassy mouths and attitude was for girls? They apparently never had a strong-willed boy! Over 4 days I have prayed Lord give me strength. I even had to call my mom one evening to give me a break, and I thought what is this I never need a break why was Satan attacking so hard this week? Why through the relationship with my Child? Then I thought look how aggravated I have been at him for 4 days, but yet some days I act worse than a child; yet God still shows me such grace. When I don’t listen he shows me grace. When I have a sassy attitude he shows me grace. He does not put me up for sale! How much easier would it be if we showed the same amount of grace that God gives us. If we began to have a renewed sense of grace each day?
The message of this profounding grace is proclaimed throughout the scriptures. Our God is “merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin” (Exodus 34:6-7)
When grace happens, it’s not a mere complement from God we recieve but a new heart. Give your heart to Christ, and he returns the favor. “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you” (Ezek. 36:26) For many years I missed this truth. I believed : Christ for me, with me, ahead of me. And I knew I was working beside Christ, under Christ, with Christ. But I never imagined that Christ was in me. Christ is for me not ever against me!
As a child I listened to the words of this song finally as an adult I realize how powerful the words are AMAZING.
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
It is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so than no one can boast. —Ephesians 2:8-9
Gods grace is truly amazing. I hope this encourages you!
May you be blessed and encouraged.
