How many days of our life do we spend thinking we are too messed up for God? We think we’ve done too much wrong, that we’ve strayed for far too long, that He could never want or use someone that’s said and done the things we’ve done. I know that for much of my life I thought these things. I thought, I’m not stepping foot in a church because the roof may fall in on me! Thats how far I’d gotten in my sin and desires and away from God. And the truth is, thats exactly where the enemy wanted me. Our enemy, satan, doesn’t want you to feel loved. He wants you to feel unworthy and unwanted. He wants you to believe you are unforgivable. He wants you disabled in furthering the kingdom of God.
How many days have you believed those lies of the enemy?
For many days I felt hopeless and helpless in my life. I felt alone in my struggles. But God’s love drew me to Him. I put my faith in Jesus and my transformation began. I read these verses in Romans and it changed my life.
Romans 8:38 and 39 says For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
See it was this love that helped me overcome those lies Satan had told me for so long. God’s Word is truth and is powerful and it speaks. I realized that no matter what I was loved. Nothing I did, nothing I had thought, nothing I had said, and no scheme of the devil could seperate me from that love. It says it here in the Word. God’s love for us is unlimited and it has no boundries. Nothing can change His love for you!
But what about when you were a hot mess like me, deep in your sin?
Maybe you are there now. The good news is that God loves you still. Romans 5:8 says But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
He knew that you and I would sin while on this earth. And yet He sent Jesus to die for us so that we can be saved and forgiven and reconciled to a relationship with Him. That is love!
God loves you no matter where you are in your walk. Whether you have put your faith in Jesus or you haven’t yet, He is there loving you, hoping to draw you to Himself by that incredible love.
May you be blessed and encouraged.
