Love in Harmony

love

If your life is anything like mine, you see a lot of chaos and drama. It’s like it follows me around everywhere I go. Looking at that from the positive side, it’s never boring! But I do get tired in that cycle. Many days I wish things were more peaceful and that relationships would go a little smoother.

In going to God with this issue in my life He has spoken to me that I’ve been given many opportunities through my circumstances and struggles (the chaos and drama)  to live out His Word and obey Him. That I’m given many chances to have my heart inspected and transformed. Throughout me being aware of that, I searched out verses that could be a model for me to live my life by, verses that can help me endure through whatever comes my way.

One of those verses is Colossians 3:14. The verse says: Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony (NLT). When I read that, I thought, I could sure use some harmony in my life! Relationships with friends and family could use some harmony. The thoughts in my mind could use some harmony with God’s ways.

I wanted so bad to have the opposite of that drama and chaos. And that opposite was harmony.
Thank God that His Word tells us how we can have that harmony. The verse says says clothe yourself in love because that is what binds us all together in perfect harmony.

I believe how we live out this Word is simply by choosing and acting. Instead of letting those negative thoughts invade my mind, I choose to think loving thoughts. Instead of focusing on what’s not right in that relationship or person or situation, I just love anyway.

I encourage you today to clothe yourself in love. Let the love flow from you despite whatever is going on in your life. Your circumstances may not change, but your heart and the hearts of those around you will!

May you be blessed and encouraged.
