Enoch Love

Today let’s jus get real basic about grace. I don’t know why but I love looking up the definitions of words. It could be because I am getting older so its been over two decades since I had spelling. You know the spelling you do in grade school where you learn the definition of the word, how it is used and how to spell it. Much to my surprise when I look words up some times they actually mean more than what I thought. Grace for example means several things. It can mean a simple elegance, or refinement of movement. In the christian world it means free unmerited favor of God, as manifested in sinners and the bestowal of blessings. Beautiful! Such a beautiful word. It also means to do honor or credit to someone or something which is a verb. Interesting how love is also a verb?  Think on that today about love and grace as a verb. Read Genesis 4:17-6:22.

Prayer for walking in a relationship with a God who gives grace:

Lord help us walk in a relationship with you. Make and mold our thinking, imaginations, heart, thoughts, attitude, and motives with your actionable grace. Make our mistakes beneficial to your kingdom. Let nothing we do right or wrong be wasted. Help us to walk faithfully. Help us to remember Noah and his obedience. Help us remember how walk exactly as you tell us to can save our families. Help us to follow the example of Enoch and Noah with righteousness and blamelessness in our thoughts, words, and deeds. In Jesus name Amen.

Today I want to give you a few things that I have learned about grace over the years the make my heart leap for joy.

  1. Grace cannot be earned. You can’t buy it, make it, or do enough to get it. Some theologians say it like this “grace is not a substance of any kind but as the love and mercy given by God”.
  2. Grace is divine influence used to regenerate, sanctify, and inspire virtue.
  3. Grace is abundant in the new testament, the apostle Paul was very familiar with it.

If you have been focused on all that you have done wrong lately take a deep breath and rest assured that God is not focused on all you have done wrong. He is a God of grace. He sees your heart and he knows if you are doing all you can do.

May you be blessed and encouraged.
