Fake Love ❤️

All my life I have heard people say “fake it till you make it”. I thought how ridiculous. If I am not happy, why would I act happy? If I am shy, why would I make it a point to speak to someone first? The realization I have come to is that as an adult you have to do a lot of things even when you don’t feel it. It makes perfect sense to me now that even when you’re in a bad mood you should still be nice to other people. People have said to me  “If you’re not smart, well honey you’ll just have to settle”. I say no; don’t settle and only you know how smart you can be. Lucky for me a few people told me the opposite: to never settle. J.R.R. Tolken said, “Not all those who wander are lost.”

Maybe those wanders are just in a reinvention phase of their lives not really wandering but just trying to figure things out.

“Fake it till you make it” is like a role you take on in becoming who you are meant to be. It is where you be the person you want to become even though you don’t quite feel like you’re there yet.  When you have self-control, it is you that controls your emotions and actions not the other way around. It isn’t like we are alone we have th Holy Spirit to help us.  There are many successful people who do things like word affirmations, power posing, and other “fake it till you make it” exercises. I think using God’s word out loud and doing what it says will change everything. We no not feel it at first but over time we still change.

Amy Cuddy’s research shows that you may actually be faking it until you become it. It showed that things like power posing even lowers your stress levels. I am not where I want to be, but I am not where I was either and that is okay for today. I just want you to know you can be whoever you want to be, but until you step into the role of “YOU” it will always be just out of reach.
May you be blessed and encouraged.
