Serving on the Wheel

4Her

Have you ever seen a hamster on one of those wheels? You know the tiny thing they go round and round in but never actually get anywhere? If you know what I’m talking about then you know life can feel like that too. Like we work and work, hardly getting —anywhere!

Maybe it is because of the dead-end job, or maybe just the opposite for you, it could be a dream the Lord put in your heart. A dream so big you can hardly see each step needed to be taken between now and the finish line. It could be debt, or that up and down back and forth relationship, or an old sin that you go back and forth with from time to time. I have been there, we have got to be aware of what the word says in those time so we don’t end up with depressed hearts or discouraged minds.

Galatians 6:9  Says “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

So if you have been doing good and you feel weary don’t give up, your blessing is coming. You have a harvest on the way! But only if you do not give up.

When I started on this ministry journey I felt like I was getting no where. I still am not where I envision to be, but I am content now that I know it is just stages of a journey. As long as I am not going back wards then I am progressing in whatever it is I do. I believe the same is true for you. If you are growing, learning, and reflecting on what is going on in all the areas of your like progress will become inevitable. Then even in the times you “feel” like a hamster on a wheel you can remind yourself it is just a feeling.

Meanwhile here are some scriptures and things to help get those feelings away from you!

  1. Speak life , there is power in the tongue. (see James 3:5-8)
  2. Speak God’s will by His word. (see Proverbs 18:21)
  3. Don’t condemn mistakes, but don’t justify them either. Acknowledge, learn, accept forgiveness and keep moving forward. (see Mathew 12:33-37)
  4.  Deadliness & Instructions. (see Proverbs 12:18, Proverbs 13:13)

For those of you who may be feeling led to start your own ministry here is a few journal entries so you can see how some things just take time.

Day 1.

Called to create. Feeling the need to create something that is beyond myself. Maybe a non-profit… Need to make sure it is legal and legit. Let the research begin!

Day 15.

Need a purpose and mission statement.

Day 19.

Over extended myself. Met with someone who already started a non-profit asked about joining them. Asked lots of questions.  Feeling horrible. My son had a ball game, I thought I could make it in time but I didn’t. He scored his first touch down and I missed it. Don’t want this to happen again. (Tip: Don’t do like I did and spend two weeks beating yourself up. Pray about it ask the Lord to help you use time better and move on. Your baby still loves you and as long as you don’t make it a habit it will be okay.)

Day 32.

After a ton of searching I have decided to go incorporated. As we will be a 501(c)3 religious organization. Have to go to my states website and search available names. Make sure to include your purpose and mission.

Day 33.

Filled out articles of incorporation paperwork. Register with the Register of Deeds in my county.

Day 34

Start a business plan. Fine tune mission statement.

Day 35.

Start looking and praying for board members. Specific people who share your vision. Criteria I will use: a. good fit b. spiritually growing c. Board can’t be all related.

Day 36.

Got permission to hand out brochures. Need to make brochures. Need a logo, PO Box, website up date, and a bank account for donations. To do list is rapidly increasing.

Day 60.

Website is now revamped. Also applied for certificate of existence.

Day 90.

Finally have board members. Praying and studying about the olive tree. Notes from that study: With the pressing that comes with the making of oil from olives comes the potential for light. Lord we ask not what we will for this ministry but what you will. Learning from the olive that fruitfulness requires both good and bad vines. The process includes “soaked, cleaned, cracked” before anything is produced.

Scripture references John 18: 1-2, 2 Samuel, Mark 14:36, 2 Corinthians 4:6-18.

Day 290.

Reaching so many countries. Receiving donations, sometimes ladies just walk up and give. God I know that is you. Please let us continue to do your will and reach more women with your hope. Thank you Lord for the other ladies who are writing beautiful your Godly wisdom alongside me. Now working with two ministries. God thank you for allowing us to be your body and help people everyday.

Today

I don’t know if any of this makes sense to you or if maybe I have shared too much, but I am praying that some one out there is helped by what I have already been through. If you are starting a brand new ministry, job, marriage, even if you have taken on a new child to raise that isn’t your own don’t give up. Galatians 6:9 (verse is above, top of page) is what I call a circle blessing. See the enemy wants you to think you are like a hamster on a wheel but you’re not. No matter how you feel the word doesn’t lie. If you continue in good a harvest will come. You are in a circle blessing and working out your harvest. The circle blessing of continuing to do good and continuing in what you are called even through the weary seasons means you will  continue to reap harvest at proper times.

May you be blessed and encouraged.
