Put off worry! Put on peace!

Don’t worry about anything, instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience Gods peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4: 6-7 NLT. This verse makes it very clear how we can put off worrying and put on peace. So, on day 12 of the put on, put off challenge, will you follow the words of this Scripture?

When we start to worry, this verse says to pray. So, that’s the first step in putting off worrying and putting on peace. Pray, pray, pray. Don’t worry about it, and make yourself sick about it, and talk to everyone you know about it. Pray about it. Tell God your fears about it and trust He is in control and has a plan.

Praying about doesn’t give you the peace though. You are probably very good at praying when trying, worrying times come your way. And you may find that you still have no peace. You can’t ignore that this verse doesn’t say to just pray, it also says o give thanks for all He has done.

Pray and give thanks, then… the peace comes.

When you find yourself worrying yourself sick, just follow the Word of God. Pray, give thanks, and receive the peace God offers. It’s time to put off the worrying, and put on peace by doing God’s Word.

Prayer for today:God thank you for my life Lord, even the things that are hard. Forgive me when I don’t bring my problems and concerns to you first. Lord thank you for your word and the peace you provide. Help me to put off my worrying by praying to you and giving thanks for all that you have done. Then Lord help me receive the peace you graciously give. Lord don’t let me forget these Scriptures when I feel my worry creeping in. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

May you be blessed and encouraged.
